Default New to VA Forum

I discovered your forum today and it is such a wealth of information that I just had to join.

I own a VA and PA company in New Hampshire - the VA side has been expanding tremendously. I absolutely love the industry and hope to contribute to the forum, as well as take away information to continuing growing my business.

Regards,

Sue

Hi Sue, welcome and thanks for taking the time to join and introduce yourself!

How long have you been in business as a VA/PA - care to share any personal thoughts on what it's like to work as one vs. the other? (I've always admired those who were able to manage the PA side of things - vastly different from a strictly virtual practice!)

Looking forward to hearing from you on the boards

Thank you Tess.

I started with the PA business in 2002 and found that New Hampshire is a little quirky with delegating personal tasks. I have watched the errand and concierge business flourish across the country, but it is a little more difficult here.

I have pushed and marketed the virtual side and it is taking off. I do love it, except for the pain across the shoulders from sitting at the computer for hours on end. Sometimes I would rather work at the computer than be running someone's errands during a snowstorm. LOL.

LOL, I understand how you feel! I find myself stretching often throughout the day - and it's great working from home, we can just get up and get outside for a while if need be.

Congratulations on a great start to your business - you've been at this for a number of years.

Sounds like you'll have lots to add to our Marketing section

Welcome to the Forum!
I am new to the forum as well and have found loads of great information.
I completely understand the snowy side of things. We just had our spring storm which left 6 inches of snow. Ready for the snow to go away, but on a happy note the sun is shining bright!!!

Greetings Sue! I am happy to meet you and I am already impressed that you run two businesses successfully! Sounds like it could be trying at times but I can imagine switching from a stay at home office mode to getting out and about might be nice! I wouldn't enjoy the snowy, cold weather part as that would be when your PA side clients need you most and I hate snow, cold, ice even rain in great amounts!!

Welcome to the forum!!

I do like the PA side as well...but not standard errand running. I enjoy gift shopping and wrapping - that is always fun, especially at the holidays. Another job I loved- a client has a condo in Florida and it needed to food/appliances/linens...etc. Guess who took care of this? Yes - ME!! I do love my job. While these jobs are few and far between, the opporunities are limitless.

Best of luck all.
