Default New to VA concept
I am looking to start my own business, however not sure where to begin. Hoping to review posts and come up with a starting point. Any ideas as to where to begin looking for clients that may be interested. Currently I cannot find anyone else in the area doing this already. I am in Mississippi.

Hello and welcome
You've found a great starting point right here - take your time reading through the forum sections, take notes, ask questions, share your own thoughts and comments, etc.

As far as finding clients - you'll first need to decide which services you're offering and who you're offering them to. Once you've defined your target market and your ideal client you'll have a better chance of locating them Check out the MARKETING AND NETWORKING section for plenty of possible directions to try.

Hi and welcome. You're in for a big learning curve but an enjoyable one. Go get yourself a cuppa and sit back and start reading. Take notes, print off what you need to - you'll find ideas forming as you learn what others have done. Have fun!

Hi, welcome! I am in about the same position as you. There is so much information in this forum it's hard to take it all in. I have found that unfortunately there is a lot to do before I expect I'll get my first client. But there's good info here on how to get things started. Good luck!

Hi - I am new too and have a lot to learn myself.
I think one important marketing tool will be your website, or at least that is what I gather from reading so many other VA helful stories. With a website you can start putting yourself out there to everyone you can reach!!
Good luck and I look forward to getting to know you better.

Welcome. Do lots of research...read, read, read. This is an excellent site but you still need to do your own research. Also recommend getting a "start-up" journal" to capture your thoughts and ideas.

Welcome! I highly recommend starting with a small business plan and taking lots of notes here from the forum. When I first started, my head was spinning but I got on the right track and was soon on my way to start my business because I started following certain steps to get me to where I am today.

As Tess says, ask questions, throw some comments out there, brag(!) and share thoughts. You'll love it here!
