New to this site
Hello.. I am new to this site and am in the process of starting a virtual assistant company.
10 years ago, after my second child, I tried to create a Virtual Assistant position in my home. It just didn't work.
I have been a legal assistant/paralegal for over 20 years. I took a 2 year leave of absence from the legal field. In the two years of my leave of absence, I helped my husband run a new business, bought commercial property, designed our commercial space and prepared triple net lease agreements for our two tenants. In those two years, I've learned so many things that I can now share with other business owners.
I started my Virtual business a month ago and have 5 clients. Three of which have me on their payroll monthly. I am so busy right now, that I do not have time to do my own marketing.
My virtual is a little different from most. I have my own office in town, not at home, and I try to target clients in my immediate County. Small towns are in a high demand for this type of service and in this economy. I have joined our Chamber of Commerce and am an Ambassador. I also joined a BNI referral group as well. I've obtained all of my clients through these referral sources. I' ve basically become a Business Consultant/Marketing Consultant. I love what I am doing. I do have direct contact with my clients. My tag line is "Virtual with a Personal Touch"!
The last few days, I've been able to bill most of my day. I hope to use this forum more often so that I can see how others are doing things and what is working and what is not.
