Hi Giselle, welcome to the community!
You've found a great place to network with fellow VAs and gather/share info and anecdotes, so make yourself right at home.

I'm curious, as someone who works to educate clients about the nature of virtual assistance in order to remove the employer/employee mindset from the working relationship, do you find it more difficult to do this with your own clients given your tagline?

Looking forward to chatting with you on the boards

to the forums, Giselle! This is the best place on the 'net to learn and contribute to the VA profession as a whole. Glad you found us, and I look forward to seeing more of you on the forums!

I have got to say that as a business owner (I pay my own taxes, etc.), and for IRS tax purposes, I am not considered an "employee." That part of your business tagline and some wording on your site kind of bothers me, as a VA. (JMHO only! and I'm not looking to start a huge debate, because we are a friendly bunch here!) Would you mind sharing why you chose to use the word "employee"? Maybe I'm missing something, or I didn't read enough on your website to clarify the use of this word? Or maybe there is a disclaimer somewhere that I didn't spot that clarifies that you are NOT an employee?

Oy. I sure hope you don't take offense at me asking this, and I'm not trying to pick on you or be disparaging in any way.

Warm regards,

Hello Everyone,

Although, my company is a virtual assisting company, we do not like our clients to feel as if they are using an outsourced company but in fact are utilizing a "department" within their company. The tagline, "Your employee of the year," does not mean that we are literally "an employee" but in fact, that we work as if we were the company's employee of the year. For a company to label a worker as an "employee of the year," it showcases the fact that the worker has embodied the very qualities in which make them an asset to the company, a worker of extraordinary talents and one who completes the tasks and sets an example for others. We have set our company with high standards, allowing other businesses to feel comfortable with the outsourcing of a project, as virtual assisting is not yet a term in which is known throughout all businesses. Companies do not like to partner with services or companies in which they do not understand and so we offer our services as if we were an annex to their company.
