That is fantastic, Donna! Way to go! Especially on finding a client before you even officially started your business. I'm really new to this business, so news like yours is encouraging. Wish you further success.

Like others here, I had my first client before I officially opened my business doors as well. Often it's 'who you know' isn't it? Congratulations and enjoy!

Wow - Congratulations. How exciting - I know that you will do well and have fun. I am just starting my VA business as well and I would like to work with Realtors.

Have a wonderful day!

"Who you know" is right. My first client was someone I kept in contact with through LinkedIn that I used to work with at a previous employer. Congrats on the new VA job!

Congratulations! That is awesome. You'll find so much information about billing/boundaries and all the good stuff you'll need to get off to a good start. There are so many knowledgeable people on this board. You'll find all the help that you'll need.

Well done on getting your first client and so quickly too. I've just bid for a VA position today which is my first bid. You'll find so much information on this site and everyone is very friendly. I've found it a great place to find out some great information.

Welcome Donna!...this is a wonderful opportunity!...Just remember to keep in mind to never forget to set a balance between family time and work time because starting a business and maintaining it is VERY time consuming but it's so rewarding...as it is with your family!

Congrads!!

Congrats Donna,

I'm kind of like you. I started putting my business together and making sure things were the way they needed to be but had not really committed with the actual legalities. I belong to our city Chamber and at our luncheon the other day I made the mistake (not really a mistake) of introducing myself with the new company name and what i was offering. After the meeting I was approached by someone needing a bookkeeper and we are in the process of finalizing the relationship. Then I found out the president has already hooked my website up with the city and facebook, and the website is not quite ready. Whooooo, I think others are ready for me to do this business. Anyway, I'm going today to do all the legal stuff and open the checking account so I can start working for my client.

Best of luck to you.
