Default Introduction from Virtual Insanity - UK based new business!
Hello Everyone.
I just wanted to introduce myself in the hope that I can meet some great people, gain some valuable knowledge, whilst at the same time assisting others on the same road to success as me!

I have been spending some time over the last few months building my website and other business T&Cs, policies, invoice templates and payment terms etc. in my spare time as I currently work full time as an office manager - but like many, am working towards a future of self employment.
Id be most grateful if you could give me any feedback on my site www.virtualinsanity.biz

I have also submitted my business to some online directories such as yell, thomson local, freeindex etc. and have also submitted my site to google (realise this one takes a while though!)

I have now just found out that I am being made redundant and I now have 4 weeks notice pay - eeek! So with the wonderful support of my fiance, I have decided to focus on this fully to get it up and running.

I would be most grateful if I can get any advise on the best forms of marketing now, my ideas are:

Leaflet dropping to the affluent areas around where I live (residential)
leaving postcards in local stores
paying for adverts in local press/publications
Paying for someone to promote my website further (as my knowledge for SEO is limited and it also seems time consuming)

Any advise on what has worked well and not so well for you would be really helpful to me right now, as I have a very limited time to start getting clients in!!!!

Thanks so much in advance and I look forward to hearing from you

Alex

Hi Alex:

I am also very new and in AZ. I have done this for less than a week and have no clients.

I would think it is best not to concentrate so much on print advertising. Try to send a flyer to everyone you have an e-mail for.

Good luck,
