Hi, Everyone!
My name is Clarissa and as of 2 weeks ago, I didn't know what the term "Virtual Assistant" meant nor does anyone I've mentioned it to since then. That is ok! This just means we are on the cusp of something bigger than we know. No one knew of my previous industry when I started. Now, its all over the place (in ALL sorts of offshoots).
I've worked in an emerging female marketing for 6 years. I've not only been teaching and training wonderful women, I've been behind the scene pushing the brand forward. I licensed the rights to the brand and ran my own business, virtually, from Philadelphia and Dallas. I've always been a part of launching the business infrastructure as well as marketing and sales and still do contract work, virtually

. I also work as a coach and assistant for a VERY busy single mom. I am helping her launch her image consulting business, I coach her relating to self-esteem and 'bringing her sexy back' after a devistating loss. I also work with women going through transitional points in their life (cancer recovery, weight gain/loss-all related to self-esteem).
My previous professional life consisted of marketing and sales functions, most notably with Dell Computer. Ugh, I loved the $$ but not the environment.
What I've realized is that I have been a virtual professional for 6 years!!! I'm thrilled and charged to get my virtual business off the ground (no name yet although 80% of the website is developed).
I've been on this forum and have visited other sites and am amazed at the collaboration I have seen amongst this industry. Totally female, totally empowered. I truly believe that when we are clear and able to access our creativity, we are at our personal best. However, that creativity needs a place to express itself so we can fully contribute to the planet. I see that happening through the VA industry. Thank you all for creating such an organic and welcoming space.
Much Light,
Clarissa
