Things are going well just about up and running. Still looking for that all elusive first customer though. Had a couple of ad hoc jobs but need to get some retainer customers.

I'm doing a fair amount of online networking and have recently contacted a local magazine about putting an article in there explaining what I do and how I can benefit small businesses... just waiting to hear back from them.

That sounds like a really good idea, let me know how you get on. I am trying the online networking, have done some offline networking but can't afford to join them as a member yet.

They've come back with a price for advertising which I just cannot stretch to at the moment. They don't do articles per se, but have said they are very interested to know what a virtual assistant does as they have not come across this term before. I am therefore going to (cheekily) ask them to let me explain, by way of an article in their magazine (for free) what we do and how we can benefit all small businesses. It may not work, but... if I don't ask then I don't get.

I work in a school during the day so offline networking is very difficult for me to do, so I'll keep going with online networking
