Default Hi from Spain!
Hello everybody!

I have just joined this forum and would like to introduce myself:

I have been working as an EA for over 15 years now and have recently set up my own little business as a Virtual Assistant together with a friend of mine. We are still in the start-up phase and I am hoping to get some helpful information through this forum.

I am located in Spain.

Any questions - here I am!

Sunny greetings,
Stefanie

Hi Hilde and Cyndi,
Thanks for your welcome messages!
@Hilde: I can see from your HP that you are Dutch. I am German. :-) Good to hear that there is another VA business in Spain, as I think it is not so common here. Maybe you could share with me some experiences you have had when you set up your business. Did you find it hard to find clients? How exactly did you approach them? Are your clients Spanish or foreigners?
Sorry for all these questions, but as mentioned before, we are in a start up phase at the moment and I find it quite hard to get the "foot in the door" at the moment. Spanish companies just don't seem to know our kind of service and are very reluctant.
What is/was your experience.
So curious to find out more! ;-)
Best regards from Valencia,
Stefanie

Hi Stefanie,
I don´t have any Spanish clients (well, one, but she is a one-man-band and doesn´t need a lot of assistance). We don´t focus on the Spanish market at all. Besides my Spanish is not nearly good enough. My sister Susanne who works with me does speak Spanish very well. She´s been here 26 years, but she doesn´t really focus on the Spanish market either.
But, since we´re ´virtual´it doesn´t really matter.

I found LinkedIn and my own network to be the best ways of finding work.

I actually have been looking for a German (speaking) VA for a while, so I might connect with you when I have the need for it again.

Hoi Hilde,

That sounds great! Looking forward to cooperating with you in the future (hopefully). ;-) And if you ever need help with Portuguese, my partner is Brazilian. So we could also help there.

Interesting what you say about LinkedIn. I am only just starting to realize the scope and opportunities of it and I must say I am surprised. I saw on your profile that you are connected to some VA Groups which I didn't know of. So it's always good to look around.

Take care and doei,

Steffi
