Hi Everyone!
I'm a VA in Massachusetts hoping to meet other VA's, learn about the industry more and grow my business. I've been an administrative assistant and office manager nearly all of my working career. I have taken jobs as a VA in the past and last month decided to go into business for myself. With the tough economic climate we live in today, it made more financial sense to me personally to offer my services virtually vs. sending out over 175 resumes a month and waiting while dreading a pink slip from my landlord (still dreading). I love administrative work, I love the different assignments that come about when you are a VA and the creative aspect that many people honestly need to help their businesses thrive. I really enjoy working with other small businesses and self-employed individuals and helping them develop their business or offer administrative support. Being a VA offers a personal touch. You're not just handing in yet another report to an endless chain of bosses, you're providing a client with work you are proud to deliver.
I suffer from multiple chronic illnesses, they used to mean endless sick days and call in's at work and now it means that I can still be comfortable, take my medication and work while I do it. Being able to support myself is priceless and I hope to (quickly) grow my business so that I can continue to enjoy my work (and have a roof over my head).
I also enjoy writing articles, making custom cakes and hanging out with my cat.
