Default Hi! I'm new here!
I just wanted say HI to everybody! I'm new to the forum, but from what I've seen so far, it looks great!

I'm currently a full-time secretary and new first-time Mom . My goal is to pick up a little work on the side to supplement my income and then hopefully get a large enough client base to be able to work from home.

If anybody has any advice on setting my rates & terms under my profile, I would appreciate tips on that. I think I know what I want my hourly rate to be, but I'm not sure about the terms.

I am excited to start my little venture and I wish everybody else the best of luck.

...now I just gotta figure out where I go to create my signature...

~Rae

Hi and welcome Rae! Congrats on your new business AND your new baby
In order to set the terms for your business I'd recommend first downloading the free Getting Started as a Virtual Assistant packet.

There are also a few topic sections on the boards that will help you. Check for the Billing Policies and Procedures section and the General Billing and Invoicing section here. There is a ton of great information in there to help you get started creating your policies and terms.

Here's to your success!

Congratulations on motherhood! VAF is, in my opinion, the best place to start. Here you will find resources and networking opportunities that you won't find other places. I look forward to interacting with you on the boards!

Best Wishes

When I try to go into the forums where I can download forms, it tells me I don't have the minimum required post count. I have 5, (6 including this one). I still need to post 19 messages. I'm not sure the best approach to this without being annoying. I don't have any questions and can't really provide good feedback yet since I haven't been able to review the required forms for starting up my business.

Any suggestions?
