Default Hi from Chapel Hill, NC!!!
Bumped into this site, and have been reading for over an hour and learning learning learning!!!!

My name is Paula and I am from Chapel Hill, NC. I currently work virtually for a major credit card company and have been doing technical support and project management for close to 10 yrs. Recently found out I will be losing my job in 3 months, so I thought this might be an avenue to pursue!

I am sure I will find tons of info on the site. I should be going to bed, as my twins have to go to daycare in the morning. My DH is an over the road trucker driver, and is only home 4-6 days a month...on average. I cannot even image having to go to an actual office building. But I guess I will do what I have to do. Hopefully this VA thing might be something for me....

Off to do more reading! Thanks for the welcome!

Hey Paula,

I was interested seeing that you are NC. I am in Charlotte, NC. Sorry to hear about your job. Do you plan on finding another job or just working as a VA full-time. I wish you the best.

Hi TG... Thanks for the hi! Well I would love to be able to do VA full time, that's why I am trying to jump start something now, while I still have a job. But if not, I definitely will have to get something, I have a few irons in the fire. I have been working virtually for my current company for close to 10 yrs now, so I definitely want to find something virtual. I cannot even imagine having to go back to the real world and with 2 yr old twins, my head hurts just thinking about it.

How is the VA working for you? Have you been doing it long, and are you able to do it full time?

I know how it is with one child running around let alone two. I wish you the best of luck. As for me I am about to start my business soon. I have been out of work now for over six months and it has definitely been rough. I am hoping to get up and running soon and see what happens. I know how you feel not wanting to go back to an actual office and working. I started another business almost a year ago and it is running real slow so I hope the VA will pick up a lot quicker for me.

How funny, I grew up in a suburb named Chapel Hill, however it is Queensland, Australia a fair way from where you are.

Welcome to the boards and good luck
