Hi From Bedford, Massachusetts
Hi Everyone,
I have already posted a few times on here, but I thought I would finally introduce myself. My name is Julie, I have been a stay at home mom with my 2 kids, 5 and 2 1/2, for almost 3 years now. I have been doing some VA work for a couple of business owners in my town for the past 3+ years. I finally decided that 2008 was my year to finally try to take my VA business to the next level and actually become an "official" business. Before I know it my youngest will be in school and I will HAVE to go back into the real world, but I would rather work from home. So, that is what I am in the process of doing right now. I have been working on my website for the past couple of weeks and my goal is to be live by March 1st. I am not as qualified as most of you, but I work hard, I'm a quick learner, and I am willing to attempt just about anything.
So far I love this forum and I have found so many of you helpful and extremely resourceful....thank you!
Take Care,
Julie

Hi Julie, welcome, it's great to have you here!
You'd be amazed to learn how many of us earned our 'qualifications' The range of real-life experience, actual schooling, VA programs, and just plain old self-teaching plus everything in between is far and wide.
You're in great company as there are VAs at all levels of business development and you're sure to find lots of support here as you grow your practice.
I'm looking forward to celebrating March 1 with you!

Hi Julie, welcome to the Virtual Assistant Forums! I agree with Mary that the key to being a successful VA is being open to learning new things and Tess' point that we have all earned our 'qualifications' in differing manners, good luck!

Hi Julie and welcome! Don't undersell yourself - I'm sure you've got plenty of skills if you have been keeping clients for three years and running after kids!! Using the resources and references around this place - you'll be reeling in clients in no time!

Re: Hi From Bedford, Massachusetts
Thank you everyone, for all your kind words. I am still trying to pull my website, contracts, and other docs together before I can go live with my website. I was hoping for MArch 1st, but this week was a lot less productive than I thought it would be (it was Feb, school vacation week). So, right now I am setting little deadlines for myself to get as much as I can accomplished this week. If I don't go live on March 1st, I was thinking maybe on my 30th b-day, March 14th. Hope everyone is well.
Julie
