Default Hi!
Hi Everyone! I am Tina and just starting up my business. I have been married for 17 years and have 3 daughters, 1 just going into college this fall. I lost my job after 12 years, in June due to the economy. I have wanted to start this business for the last year but didn't have the time to get it going. In looking for a new job, I am finding it is tough out there and especially hard to make the same salary as I was at my previous job. I have a Bachelors Degree in Accounting, but was in charge, and acted as support to several areas in the last 15 years since I have been in the professional administrative world.

So while I am still looking for a job, I decided to use the extra time I have to get my business going to use as supplemental income to whatever job I take and hopefully some day be able to grow it to a full-time income.

I look forward to learning from others with the same dream as me in this forum. To anyone who is seasoned in this business, I am open to any tips you can provide

Do lots of posts - we need your feedback and it will build a good strong rapport and support system here on VAF. The icing on cake for that communication also is that you will have access to RFPs and other areas that may help you obtain clients or VAs you can subcontract through/work with in your field.

I think it is great you are going to college -- CRISIS = opportunity!!

Hi Tina

Welcome to the forum!
I am leaving my full time job to start my VA business on 1 August.. so just a couple of days for me! I have been working hard on setting up my business for about 6 months now, so am ready for it. I have a couple of clients lined up and have already done some VA work after hours. My biggest advice to you is to network as much and as hard as you can. You never know who could turn into a client or who could refer your services.

Good luck!
