I'm new to this forum and very excited about it!

I've had my own bookkeeping business for a few years now but I do more than just bookkeeping and I realized that the majority of the work I do doesn't need to be done on site. Business hasn't been great recently so I was surfing around looking for some work online when I came across the term "Virtual Assistant".

Now I know this isn't a new concept but I didn't know it had a name. This was my ah-ha moment and then I came across this site. What a great place! A whole community of people doing the stuff that I want to do.

I'm restructuring my business and would love some support/advice so I'll be looking forward to replies and I'll be reading away in other areas of the forum. So thank you all for sharing your knowledge and letting me be a part of this community.

It's great to have you here and you're in excellent company as you'll soon find out.

That 'there's a name for what I do??!!' ah-ha moment is more common than you might think

Make yourself at home and take your time getting familiar with what this site has to offer - and don't be shy about jumping into conversation with your own questions and comments!

Hello Barb,

A hearty welcome to the VAF! Oh my, I can so relate to that "ah-ha" moment.

I even knew/know a VA from my past, but it didn't resonate with me until I was searching for a way to put all my skills and education to "work." I found VAF, and the rest is history.

I guess I had an "ah-ha" and "duh" moment all in one.

You jump right in with both feet, and as Tess and Andrea said, post, comment, and I want to add: no question is too dumb.

You're going to love it here, because you have stumbled across the most (IMHO) informative and helpful group of people in the VA industry!

Thanks everybody for the warm welcome! I'm starting out with a sort of marketing plan. Redoing my website, new business cards, a brochure of services, and maybe some postcards to mail out. Now that I know what I want to do it's time to find clients.

I'll be surfin' thru the forurm for additional ideas and of course any suggestions are very welcome!
