I started my business in May and spent so much time researching becoming an Entrepreneur. You will find that your head will spin, but it will feel so good because you are doing it for yourself.

I just recently found this site, but I have already learned more in the few days since I joined than I did in the 3 months of being in business.

The people on this site are either where you are right now, are veterans to the VA world, or somewhere in the middle. They are great people! They help you out with great information and encouragement and they accept your ideas and suggestions as well.

Good luck with your business, you are already on the right path. However, get that business plan going ASAP (it is extremely important to the success of your business)

Welcome to the forum! I would also recommend writing down goals for your business once you have written the business plan. I find it keeps me motivated and moving in the right direction. Good luck!

They also have great information and links for starting your business the right way.

I thought I'd chime in here ~ we also have a good link going on "Business Plans" that you may want to check out. I posted a link to a blank plan from SCORE, and there are several others there, too. I'm thrilled to say I'm almost done with mine, but I have a lot of holes to fill, and a very long to-do-list that's attached to it. I'm looking at mine this way; I'm doing the advised business plan, with all the parts they tell you to put in it, to the best of my ability, written with my own personal slant for my own personal business. Once written you're supposed to use it to submit to a bank to get a loan, but since I don't need a loan, I'm using it as my roadmap ~ a living document that I'm allowed to change, add to or delete from, anytime I want. I'm doing mine up with lots of pictures in lovely script, and will print it out for ready reference ~ probably will have lots of chicken scratch in the margins soon! It really gets you thinking about all the things you want to do, what you will do, and how your success will look ~ it's really time well spent! Good luck!

It is amazing when you sit down to do your plan and really think about the areas that you need to fill out. I think that is the reason why it is so highly recommended that you create your business plan before or at least the beginning of your business. They take a lot of time but they are so worth it.
