Hello fellow Virtual Assistants!

I'm Elise Tailleur and à la Mode Office is the business I created. I offer marketing materials, graphic design, presentations, and administrative assistance.

I took the Virtual Assistant Certificate at Red Deer College which really helped me refine my business skills. I have worn many hats: administrative assistant, office manager, event coordinator, marketing designer, coffee shop owner/operator, artisan soap and oil producer... All of my experiences have created a strong foundation for my business.

I have spent the summer revisiting my business plan and doing business development. Right now I'm amping up my networking and trying to find my ideal clients.

I really love to travel so my goal is to be able work out of office/country at least half the year. I really love music and I hope I have time to start creating my own electronically for my animations, which is another thing I'm passionate about.

I love that you're using video as part of your marketing campaign! The Halloween video is especially fun - did you create that yourself? I hope you don't mind, I'd like to post it to the Multimedia Marketing section of VAF as a neat example of using video for marketing.

Hi Elise! How was the VA certification program? I've always wondered about those...

Hey Sandy,

The program was great. When I finished I had my business plan and marketing plan and I a head full of practical knowledge. The instructors and classmates were also very supportive. It helped that I had the time to do it all in 10 months. You can do as many classes as you wish which is great for people that have full time jobs and children.

Hello Elise, Welcome to VAF, this is a great forum. I loved the video you created it was clever and to the point. We are also a new business and I have been researching videos to get an idea of content. I like your video because it was not too long. Some of the ones I have seen are too wordy and you lose interest. Good luck in your business ventures.
