I'm new to the VA world; however I'm stepping out on faith to start yet another business while working a full time job (like most of you are). Im currently taking inventory on my skills and so far I'm leaning towards the niche of REVA. I've been lurking on VAF to find out if this was something i could actually do and have decided I'm moving forward. I'm in the business planning phase and hopefully will launch soon. I will continue to read and learn more from all of you and look forward to the next phase of my quest to build a viable and sustainable VA business.
Hey Teresa! Good luck in your new business! I recently moved from Texas about two years ago to Washington and just recently getting back into the virtual business. This website is so full of articles and suggested forms so I encourage you to continue to utilize this website!!
Thanks everyone. I appreciate the warm welcome. I'm still laying the foundation out so to speak but I'm nervous and anxious to get the business launched as soon as possible.
I'm from Texas also. I also work from home but have a "plan" in place to pay off all of my debt in less than 6 years. In the meantime I'm also building my business so that when my debt is paid off I have enough income to be able to quit my day job and devote myself to my business full-time.
That's my plan as well. I see we reside in the same city. Do you promote yourself locally? I would definitely like to chat with you more to see what has and has not worked for you.
I don't promote locally. Everyone I've spoken to in Houston gets excited when they find out I'm in the area & wants to know how much I would charge to come in & do their filing. Then I explain to them what virtual means and that my services do not include filing and how I would be saving them money.
I haven't been able to get a local client yet but have received about a dozen phone calls. Maybe it's just me but I've had better luck in Austin.
