Hi TaCreacia, welcome to the forums! It's great to have you here!

Event planning must be a really fun niche to specialize in - how did you get into that? I'm so curious to know if you're able to manage planning an event in a truly virtual capacity?

Thanks for the warm welcome.

As far as the event planning, for the most part you can handle the planning virtually. I have been working for this one company out of Jacksonville, FL for over a year and I set up all the events they have. I have grown to have a great contact database of suppliers, tv stations etc that I contact when I need to set up advertising. It might require me to do more phone calls and sometimes I have to go to a locations but the client pays me for that also. The client and I work very well together and he trust my judgement on a lot of things and pretty much allows me to set everything up.

I send him a daily update on whats going on either by fax, email or a phone call. He is more pleased that way. There are times that he calls me late at night because somethings he need have to be done first thing in the am. But this is rare but does happen.

I have been doing events for over 10 years and I started by doing them for organization I am in and doing it as a volunteer. I enjoy it and I have a true love for doing events so I have kind of set a Virtual way of handling the set up. I am only requested onsite when the event happens and mostly that's just to watch it all fall in place.

Aw, thank you, that's so nice to hear I can't really take credit for it though - it's truly a community effort!

Your event planning gigs sound like a *lot* of fun - congrats on finding such an entertaining niche
