Hello From Rhode Island..
I am so excited I found this Forum. I am currently just starting to become a VA.. The big question for me is .. Does anyone do this successfully on a part time basis.. To me, my part time basis is actually evenings and week-ends. I am not in a position to quit my Full time job while I work on my VA endeavor. So I have to somehow build up a clientele then try to move over to my business full time.

I feel positive that I will find allot of answers to my questions on this wonderful site!

Thank you in advance, nice to meet all of you

Hi and Welcome! I am sure you will feel right at home. I am sorry that I can't answer your question, as I am just starting out myself, but I am sure someone will be able to answer your question better than I could. Good Luck!

Hi,

In looking around the forums I found these threads:

VA + other business?

I hope this helps!

Jamie

Hello and welcome aboard. The one thing you might want to consider is subcontracting with another VA. They may have projects available that can be done in the time you have available.

That is a relative question my dear - relative to how YOU define success. I hope you find yours! Welcome! - Deb

Hi, Safire ~

I'm new here too, and just starting a part-time VA business as you are. I'm still full-time employed as an Executive Assistant in CT, so we're kind of neighbors!

As for setting up a website, it doesn't have to be expensive! My blog website (with my VA page) only cost me $20 a year for the domain name, and $10 per month for hosting. Consider using a free Wordpress theme and customize it to your liking before looking into something more expensive. My resident tech adviser (roommate) has done some great work on my site, and we'd both love to help you if you need it!

Hi DGaudette.. I am so excited to meet you.. You are very close and doing the whole P/T thing to begin with like myself!! To be honest I could use some help on building a decent website with not allot of money. I am not to sure how this p/t thing is gonna fly. So I can't really put tons of money into it.. Maybe one night this week we can meet online. And talk via IM like messenger or Aim.. And share some ideas? I work this week until 6 pm..

Hello and welcome to VAF. I can't give you much advice on being part-time, but am sure many have been successful in doing so. Good Luck!
