Hi everyone!

My name is Tishia. I'm a 30 something (32 to be exact...lol) single work at home mom. I started my VA business, Tishia Saves Time (http://www.tishiasavestime.com) in Jan 2006. It's been 2 years and the first several months were really tough financially. While I'm way more successful now than I was in the beginning I'm still striving to take my biz to the next level and achieve even more than what I already have.

I just found this site and am excited to be here :-)

Great to have you here! Welcome to the community.

I understand what you mean about the first few months - it can be a real struggle to get started...and even once you're established it is a constant state of investment (time, energy, etc.) to keep a practice growing and moving forward - but so worth it all, isn't it?

The irony (blessing? curse?

LOL) , I guess, as business owners, is that there's *always* another level to strive for

Fortunately, we have forums like this full of amazing VAs at all levels of business development to chat with, find support with, and brainstorm with!

Welcome, Tishia! I'm with Tess, I love you business name. Brrrr, how's the weather up there? I'm just starting out as a VA and hitting some of those yikes, where's the business going to come from? moments ... Glad to hear it gets better!

I'm with you, too. I'm just starting out and am definitely not a wiz at marketing, but I'm putting my best effort forward, and know that it will work out somehow. We just have to stick together.

Thank you all for the very warm welcomes! Being in Northern Michigan I can use all the 'warmth' I can get

It's pretty chilly up here right now and of course it's snowing.

Anyways I am excited to be here, to learn more about everyone and offer my support and advice to those of you on this journey with me. Being a single mom working from home is definitely the most rewarding thing in the world but there are certainly the days (like when I've stayed up all night to complete projects) that I wonder if I'm cut out to handle this and if heading back out into the 'career' world wouldn't be best. Thankfully that insane thought only lasts a couple seconds ;-) There's no way I'm willing to throw in the towel and give up the freedom of being my own boss but most importantly I'm not willing to give up the precious time I have with my son!
