It sounds like you know exactly what you want to do - 'read and type' - I'd say, start manifesting that... brainstorm the types of services you could offer that would allow you to do just that. As a virtual assistant, you get to build your company philosophy, your services, and your clientele around what works for you - so turn that 'read and type' into something you'll love!
Obviously transcription is an option... But in terms of the 'reading' part of it - read what? What industries are you interested in? What types of clients need someone who reads? Perhaps editing/proofing?
Just some thoughts to get you started.
I think you'll find you're very much a specialist if you pinpoint what it is you *want* to be doing.
