Hello! A new VA coming soon!
Hi all! I'm starting my VA business with a launch date of Aug 1st, 2008!

A little about me: I've been doing administrative work for the last 14 years. I was recently laid off after the birth of my second child and have explored many ideas working from home. I actually thought about the idea of doing administrative work for small businesses without knowing that there was actually a whole world out there of VA's! I got really excited when I saw there were people making a living being a VA and decided it was time for me to start my own VA business. What better way than for me to start building on the skills I already have!?

Motivation: My main motivation is my children. I have two small girls and I really don't want them to be at daycare for long hours of the day. I am also motivated by the fact that our income has been cut short (by my job loss) and we really need the extra money.

Question: I'm looking for a mentor, perferrably with small children, who can help give advice on being a WAHM. Can you recommend how I can find one?

Well, I'm off to explore this site and "soak in" as many ideas and advice as possible. I look forward to getting to know all of you!!! Any recommendations of resources on this site is appreciated!

~Aimee

Hi Aimee,
I think you'll find you've got a whole site full of mentors (WAHMs with small children) right here But if you're seeking a professional coach, try running a Google search and see who pops up.

I'm excited for you and your August 1 launch date - you must really be looking forward to the big day. What have you done in preparation thus far?

Looking forward to chatting with you further!

Hi Aimee - Don't worry, you'll do fine as a VA, though balancing your young'uns requires a heap of creativity, I'd think. When my grandbaby is here I can't get a thing done! There are definitely a ton of sources for WAHM support - others here will provide many leads, I'm sure.

Welcome Aimee. Tess is right, there's a whole site of members who are WAHM with small kids. Myself included. We'll help you out. Just ask lots of questions.
