Hello nervous newbie here
Hi I am Teresa Carroll and I have decided after years of contemplating to run my own VA business from home. I have fibromyalgia and working from home is the best option for me. I would appreciate any tips. I have an extensive customer service background and have worked for many corporate clients.

I love this forum. I visited for a good while before joining. You all are so personable. Glad to be here!

Teresa

P.S. My company name is Soulutions Services, I had the website completed but now I am making changes. Feel free to visit and offer suggestions but it is in the process of changing.

Welcome, Teresa!

I am also new to the forum and to the VA business in general. I was recently laid off from my job after 10 1/2 years, and took that as a sign that the time was right for me to go out on my own. I haven't posted a lot yet because I'm still so new to the format, and spend most of my time here just reading other posts. I hope that changes as I learn more and feel I have more to offer others. Again, Welcome! Maybe we can learn from one another!

I was laid off in January and decided to run my VA business full time. It has been challenging at times but I kept at if and finally have a few clients. I would say the one thing you really have to do is network, network, network. All the best to you!

I also was laid off. I decided since I knew the industry so well, I could do this for myself.

That was my thinking, too. I know I'm good at the services I can provide; what's challenging is the business side of things - getting the business set up, writing the business plan, marketing plan, etc. Oh yeah...and the part where you have to actually bring in clients! Just kidding! I'm working on that, too, and it all seems to be coming together really well. It's very exciting, and yes, still very much unnerving at times!

Hello.. Teresa. Nervous is a good way to describe the feeling of branching out on your own. I can definitely relate...was recently laid off and decided to finally lay the foundation for a VA services business too. Good luck to you. This site is great.

Good Luck Teresa. You've come to the right place. After a major project ended a couple of weeks ago, I've become addicted to this forum. I'm learning so much on a variety of subjects. Welcome!!
