Hi Emily
Have you got an idea of when you are going to take the plunge?

I was in HR - working in Recruitment & Employee Relations for a US Bank before having children, although I had secretarial training. I then became a self-trained Web Designer. My foray back into the corporate world was cut short due to ill health. After much research I decided that setting up as a VA might just be the answer.
My friend is still working full-time - we met when she sold me my house! She's got a background in Sales, Marketing & PR with Event Management and Interior Design thrown in for good measure! We're looking forward to getting the show on the road.
Thanks again for interest. I'm looking forward to becoming an active member.

Re: Hello from Maidstone, England
Hi, I use the local Chamber of Commerce and also the Athena networking groups. The good thing with Athena is that only one of your profession can attend so if you sign up to your local group and you are the only VA, no other VA can join. It is more a support network but you still get lots of referrals from it. The Chamber of Commerce has provided me with quite a few business leads and is more utilised as a networking membership. Hope this helps. There is also the BNI but I have heard some mixed reviews but also worth attending as a guest to try them out.
Best wishes
Jill
