Hello from Long Island, NY
Hi Everyone
My name is Kirsten and I am a mom of three! I work two days a week as a Unit Secretary for a private hospital about 30 minutes away from where I live. I have been in the medical/administration field for over 10 years now. I started in 1996 as a Support Associate and worked my way up. I also worked in an Attorney's office as a secretary.
I volunteer as an EMT for our local ambulance here in my town, which I enjoy very much.
I am involved in a promising relationship with a wonderful man who is a Paramedic by trade as well as part of the ambulance I volunteer for.

I joined this site because for years I have tried to get involved in starting my own Virtual Assistance Business, though It never seam to work out too well. I feel that was because I never had the right resources to learn how to get started. So this is why I am here today.

Thank You for allowing me to be part of a wonderful group of Virtual Assistants!

Kirsten

Hi Kirsten to VAF! You have found a great resource here at VAF. I, too, am just starting and in the planning stage. It sounds like from your work experience that you might have your niche? doctors or lawyers possibly?

Good Luck!

Jamie

Hi Jamie - Thank you.
I would love to do something in the medical field, because its my background.. though I am not sure what I could possibly do for Doctor's with being certified in Medical Billing and Coding. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
I am good at typing.. I type over 70 wpm. I love typing .. I love Data Entry and Just about anything that has to do with the net

What is your background ? How long have you been a member of this group ?

I just recently join VAF last month. I am still working my business plan, policies, hours, website, etc... yikes! I am hoping to up & running in the new year -- mid/end of the month. I don't have as an extensive background as you and others, but I do enjoy the admin work, making databases, mailing lists, newsletters, websites, etc.. I did work in the astronomy field a lot and enjoyed it.

I do know some members have a professional profile on their websites. I did find these sites from google:

http://landing-the-job.learnhub.com/...sional-profile

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/te...030001818.aspx

And from our site here:

Professional Profile Template

Hope this helps!
