Smile Hello from Ireland
Hi All

I would just like to intrduce myself.
My name is Fiona and I am from Ireland, I have been working as a VA part time for just over a year now mainly using freelance sites. But now I think I am ready to start full time and set up my own business.
I was so glad to find this forum

Fiona

I'm based in the UK and am hopefully getting ready to launch in the next few weeks.

These boards hold a wealth of information and I'm sure any questions you have will be answered here.

Welcome Fiona, I hope the forums are as useful to you in your beginning as they were to me. I love them every question I have had along the way has been answered by so many knowledgeable and professional people. I wish you luck and Tracy I wish you luck in a successful launch also. I hope to get to know you both through these forums.

Thank you Valerie

I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed at the moment as I've taken so much information in over the last few weeks I think my head will explode. My husband has told me it's now time to stop organising every little thing to do with my business and get myself out there

I just need now to decide what website I want and once I've got that sorted I shall be opening.... I thought of wordpress but must admit I'm finding even that more than a tad confusing

Tracy,
It is all very overwhelming and you feel like you are going a million miles an hour trying to get everything ready. I think it is all done and I still go what am I forgetting. I know I have missed something. Take a deep breath. With my website it has been a lot of trial and error. It still isn't the way I want it but at least it is there and it looks like I know what I am doing. I keep changing it and I am hoping that soon it will be where I want it to be. I keep looking at every website I can find that might give me some inspiration. I sent out some mailings and I refer to this website daily. I have organized and reorganized so many times that I think it all ended up back where I started. You will be fine it will all come together. There is alot of information on how to build a website, what works and what doesnt. I have found that Google really helps. The analytics and webmaster tools are great for someone who is just beginning. The choices are endless when trying to find a web host but you just have to decide what works best for you. I researched for weeks on just where to host my site. I settled on justhost.com as they were cheap. It is somewhat user friendly although I have not contacted the support dept they advertise being available 24/7. For me it was just a place to start. Lots of templates to choose from and fairly easy for a beginner to figure out. I have read a lot of good reviews on Wordpress but it was a little confusing as well. My website will stay where it is for now and then as I figure out wordpress and similar builders I will move it somewhere else. I wish you luck but I know it will all come together for you.

Welcome! Yep, serious information overload here! I started on VAF about two months after it began (when it was still manageable ). I set up a notebook and collected TONS of info as I went. Four years later, I still use my notebook (and update it regularly!) to refresh my memories and thought processes.
