#1 (permalink)   11-03-2009 rderensis New Member   Join Date: Nov 2009 Posts: 4 Hello from Central NY (formerly of Alaska) Hi all, I'm very excited to join this forum and to learn more about this field. My family just moved to central NY from SE Alaska due to my mother-in-law's recent diagnosis of cancer. I'm adjusting to the change of moving here as well as learning how not to work full-time. I have two boys, four and two and a former search and rescue border collie who is now retired and deaf - all of which keep me company during the day. I used to be a manager for a cancer screening program for a tribal health organization and now am going into the exciting field of VAs. I'm here to learn from you and share what I know as well. I know one thing I need to explore is how to set up a business as I am (very) new to this. Thanks for your time and look forward to reading some of your posts. ~Roz

Prayers for a speedy recovery for her and a successful business for you! My grandmother and her friend spent several months in Alaska this summer. They raved at how beautiful it is there. Alaska is a very beautiful place - nothing really compares to it but upstate NY does have it's own beauty. It has been a big adjustment coming here - the biggest one is not working, staying at home with kids, worry about parents both near and far and trying to start up working in this field. ~Roz
