Default Hello from Alaska
Hello all…
I am so grateful to have found this forum. Last summer, I started my home business doing bookkeeping. Next spring, my husband and I are moving back to Texas when he retires. I began to think about expanding my home business, but did not want to take on more bookkeeping clients.

As we began to look for a home to purchase and sell land we currently own in East Texas, we became very frustrated. Most of the properties we found interesting to fit our needs were either under contract or had closed on the sale last year!! Imagine seeing these ads active and calling to find out the opposite. And getting an agent to return our phone calls was almost like pulling teeth….some don’t believe we are serious when they find out we are calling from Alaska.

I told my husband that is what I should pursue, assisting real estate agents, because evidently there was a definite need. I have always had an interest in this area, but not inclined to obtain a real estate license. I began researching this option and that is how I found REVA’s. I made a few phone calls, sent a few emails, and here I am….on my new venture.

I have read a few of the posts on starting out as a VA and could relate. I know I will have some questions and in return, can hopefully provide input regarding the things I have learned since starting my own business.
My goal is to specialize in working with real estate agents, but not limiting myself to that option, if I so choose not to.

Happy to be aboard!

Welcome to the forum. There's lots of great info here and lots of great people! I think your idea for REVA in that area sounds great. I lived in SE Alaska for several years and loved it.

Hello and welcome to the forums
Sounds as if you've come across a local industry that so clearly needs your services!

We have only recently added the RE VA forum section to the site but our real estate virtual assistant membership grows regularly, so you're in good company with more to come I'm sure.

Of course, there's lots of good general info here too - so take your time looking aroudn

Thank you all for the warm welcome!

I live in SE Alaska, with no back roads to go driving around on...lol...I do miss that. When I first came to Alaska I lived in Anchorage and dearly loved it up there. It does so appear to be a small world.

Glad to meet yall! I will be checking out the info on here.

Hello & welcome.
I have considered RE VA also only because I have a few close friends that are agents. I look forward to hearing how it works out for you.

Hi there, I have a friend in Alaska right now and she's giving birth this July. Anyways, welcome, I am also new here and I can say that this place is a great source of information if you want to succeed as VA. They have a section for Real Estate VA's and maybe you can go there often and hopefully learn a lot from other REVA's. Welcome again...
