Its a wonderful Fall morning in Western New York and I'm so excited to finally achieve a milestone - creating a profile and posting on these forums!

I have been lurking here for the past several months while I have been taking the first steps to start a Virtual Assistant business. The information I have received here has been invaluable and how incredible is it to have all these veterans to guide the way for us newbies! My celebration today is a result of finally having a website published and (gulp) enough confidence to put myself "out there".

With 20 years of administrative experience, I have the good fortune to have experience in the wide variety of responsibilities a virtual assistant requires. I have worked at law firms, a University (where I developed my web skills), a school district and even was an executive assistant for a former Miami Dolphins player.

My biggest contribution is my willingness to take on challenges which is a result of my love of learning. It is why I am exceptionally competent at computer software and office efficiency.

I've been submitting proposals for jobs on elance, but not with much success as my rates are a little higher than many who submit proposals. I am hoping to start advertising to more long-term prospects with a holiday card sent to various individuals.

Thanks everyone, for... well... just being there! I look forward to becoming an active member of this community.

Glad you finally came 'out of the shadows' and are starting to shed your own light on the forums.

I gave up on Elance. No one wants to pay rates that are even low for American prices, and it's gotten worse the last couple of years.

This is a great place. I'm learning a lot.
