Greetings from Metro Denver, CO (long-winded)
Geographically my company is based out of Centennial however, I occasionally work on-site throughout the Greater Denver Metro area. I am a former USAF service member & LEO, wife to a nerdy Systems Engineer, mom to 2 teen daughters, pack leader of 2 working class GSD's.

I've been a "virtual assistant" since 1994, worked in the US, UK, and Germany before transferring to Colorado. In 2004 I reopened for business and got my foot in the door by being a subcontractor, within 4 months I had my own client base, and now business is by-referral. I love what I do and it shows in my work. I typically work with Top Producers in the RE industry, and business/life coaches. Since I have a CO RE License I've hosted Open Houses, attended closings, acted as a Showing Assistant and even taken on the role as a Personal Assistant.

When I'm not working I enjoy gardening and have adopted the edible landscaping philosophy. My neighbors affectionately call me the "Crazy Plant Lady". Due to my green thumb I am often asked to help with garden planning, implementing and diagnosing. Aside from gardening I love the outdoors! I'm an avid hiker, camper, mountain biker, and snowboarder!

Call me old fashioned. Having teenage daughters I am teaching them the lost art of homemaking. Both can sew, cook from scratch or recipe, and keep a tidy home. My goal was to ensure they have life skills when they eventually are on their own.

It's a real pleasure to 'meet' you all, I look forward to corresponding with you via the forums and personally.

Make it a Great day!

Love your introduction Jeannette! You painted a wonderful picture of who you are for all of us. I guess we are both old fashioned because both my son and daughter learned those life skills before they went off to college. There was no way I was sending them out into the world dependent on others for the basics.

I look forward to reading more of your posts and VA experiences in the future!

LOL - yes, I've been around since 1994 before we were called Virtual Assistants. I worked from home, via computer, fax and a corded land-line. I started out as an "off-site" receptionist/scheduler, moved up to "typing" Thesis papers for local college students, flyers for events held on our military base... it sort of grew from there. Now I'm wireless, mobile, addicted to FB, and HSi service! If there is one thing I could share with you it's the importance of taking some "Me" time. You owe it to yourself and your families (if applicable). Take a sanity check now and again - get a massage, do retail therapy (hey you don't need to buy anything just get out of the house), join a GF for some coffee, go for a walk... something to get away from the phones and computer. It's hard, you want to be there and work, work, work... Take a breath, it'll be there. The world really won't fall apart during your break.

My mom and sister live in Centennial; I'm up in "The People's Republic of Boulder." It sounds like you have made all the right moves to keep your clients and your sanity intact and growing. One of these days we'll have to meet up (or down as the case may be ).
