Brand new to Virtual Assistant Forums
Greetings fellow VAs!

I was so happy to find such a great forum to be part of. I've been a Virtual Assistant for over 2 years now and I can honestly say I've never been more happy with a job!

I have two small children and it enables me to be with them and that is so very important to me.

I am looking forward to learning more and to hopefully share some of my own tips that I've learned along the way.

Regards,
Kasey P. Lian

Hi Kasey,

It was great to read your post. Two years...wow!! So this is really something viable to do from home?? Other than being with your kids, what is your favorite thing about being a VA?

Hi Joanne,

Yeah two whole years!! Time sure does fly LOL. Obviously being able to be home with my children is number 1. I think I love the challenge of it all. It's very demanding having to complete tasks and make deadlines and handle the home and kids all at the same time. At the end of the day I look at all I've accomplished and I am proud of myself. I love the work that I do for my clients, whether it's following up on some phone calls for them or scheduling a meeting or giving them a weekly report to keep them on track. I love talking with people so I simply enjoy daily conversation with clients and their clients and partners. Sometimes they know I am talking to them from my home office and they get a kick out of knowing that. Other times, like more professional calls, I tend to leave that part out..lol.

So overall, it is just wonderful and YES it is a real job with real pay!!

Are you just starting out as a VA or is it something you are interested in?

Regards,
Kasey P. Lian

Re: Brand new to Virtual Assistant Forums
Hi Kasey,

Thanks for your reply. I'm more than just interested. I'm working through the to-do list I found on this site for getting started. I have a lot of things in place already. I'm worried about how I find clients. A while back, I tried to get involved with Virtual Office Temps (VOT) I think out of Georgia but nothing ever seemed to transpire. I never even got responses to emails so I got a little discouraged.

After spending more time the last few months pondering about what I do next (I was laid off), my gut still thinks I could do something online. When I was working, I often sent stuff home to work on. In fact, my boss was actually located in California (I'm in Colorado) and we would always email files that he needed back and forth. I really think this is the way of the future. I just need to break on through.

That's why this forum and people like you are so cool. I can learn a lot. Thanks again!
