Default Big Hello from Sunny Barbados
Hello Everyone

I am from the beautiful island of Barbados, which is in the Caribbean. I have just joined your forum and am now trying to find my way around, so I may be shouting for help from you guys very soon.

I have a practice here providing administrative, business support and corporate secretarial services to the local business community. My primary business activity is corporate services, but I am seeking to grow the admin and business support components, and to do so on the international market.

About my personal life, I am married with one son and enjoy family life. When I'm not working on my practice, I am movie-watching, hanging with friends or doing interior decorating around my home.

Well that's about it from me for now. I look forward to getting to know many of you.

Regards
Joyann M

Welcome to the forum Joyann. I am originally from the Caribbean. I am not sure if you have heard of the very small island of Saba. That is where I was born and raised. This is a great place.

Hi there and welcome to the forums!
Barbados must be so lovely this time of year - are you near the beach? (Or, is pretty much everyone near the beach on Barbados? )

Feel free to ask any and all questions you might have - there are lots of helpful VAs here and numerous conversations going that you might find worth jumping into.

I'll look forward to hearing more from you!

Hi all

Thanks for all your well wishes.

beachlover, to answer your question, no, I have never heard about the island of Saba. Where abouts is that? Would like to learn more.

VBP, I'm sooo sorry about your cold Chicago, maybe you should consider coming down to Barbados in the winter some time.

Tess, you're so so right, just about everywhere on this small island is close to the beach. We are a very small island off the Eastern Caribbean chain, and we're completely surrounded by beautiful waters.

The funny thing is that today, sometime after joining your forum, I had my first experience of an earthquake here. I was in my car waiting in traffic, when I felt my vehicle swaying from side to side. Mr first thought was that there was something wrong with my vehicle, only to find that the vehicle next to me was also moving from side to side. It was a very scary experience, and took me by surprised, since I've never experienced an earthquake before and our location was not considered by the experts to be inside the earthquake zone. Luckily though, there was no damage to buildings nor any serious injuries or loss of life. Phew... it was scary though!

Just thought I would share that with you all!

Welcome!

Eathquakes scare me, I'd much rather deal with a hurricane any day. I love barbados and was there only one time about 10 years ago. The scenery is absolutely breath taken!

Joyann, I got an email from my friend who told me about the earthquake. I heard that it started in Martinique. If the other islands felt it that strong I am sure there was some damage in Martinique. I am glad you are fine.

Saba is about 28 km south of St. Maarten. We are also 45 minutes away by plane from Puerto Rico. If you would like to learn more about Saba feel free to take a look at our tourism website.
