Thanks everyone for the warm welcome back
The work i'm doing is mostly real estate conveyancing (which is what I do in my current full time job). They either fax or e-mail me purchase contracts and their searches and mortgage instructions (if applicable) and I do all the paperwork and send it back to them. What's nice is a few of them pay me by the hour and another lawyer pays me on a per file basis. It's amazing because this all started because of my husband. He's a printer technician and about 6-7 months ago he was at a new law office fixing their printer and he mentioned that I was starting up my virtual assistant business, and one of the lawyers told him that they might be interested in hiring one. So I met with the lawyer a few weeks later, and as their office was just starting up, they didn't have any work for me right away, but eventually she passed my name along to another lawyer, who I currently do part time work, then he passed my name to the other lawyer I'm working for. Feels nice especially cause I've been working the last year or so to get my business up and running. I hope to be able to quit my full time job by mid 2011. Keeping my fingers crossed for that!!
