We are really looking forward to warmer weather and are planning some great summer family trips. Now that our daughter is nearly two, we figure we can handle some overnight tent camping.

I just wanted to see if anyone else has any fun plans for the coming summer season, and if you have any advice for our first camping trip with little Nou

No suggestions, just wanted to chime in--I admire your sense of adventure! Or maybe Nou is just more malleable than my kids. Our boys either sleep very little or not at all when they're anywhere that isn't home or when they go to bed at any other than the usual and routine. They could be well into their teens before we have the nerve to ask them to sleep (as opposed to run, shriek, deconstruct, squirm, etc.) in a tent.

Would love to hear all about where you decide to go once the plans are made. Are you thinking about a small local area, or something truly different like Yellowstone, Rockies, Grand Canyon, etc?

No advice, we're in the same boat. My son just turned one this week. This morning a friend with a similarly aged son asked me if we're going camping this summer. We'll be car camping somewhere relatively local. Thank goodness we cosleep, so there will be no need for a portable crib. I'm sure that there will be lots of eating sticks and leaves. It should be fun!

Well, I am so excited, I am ordering a tent today [a six person tent, LOL, for our tiny three person family].

We cosleep too so next we just need a couple of good sleeping bags!

And I think to start out we'll stay within a few-hour radius... and stick to the more family oriented camping 'resorts' - none of us is quite ready for actual middle-of-the-woods camping yet.
