I couldn't agree more. People think that the life of a VA is easy and some of the tasks we perform are a walk in the park.
The big thing for me is the misconception of how easy transcription is. I've been contacted by people who want to do transcription work thinking that it's a good way to make some extra money until they actually try it out and really struggle.
Then the flip side is the dictations with so much background noise or alternatively whispered audio files that make you want to scream!
That said though, I wouldn't change my job for all the Tea in China! :-)
