When attending your event do you follow up by adding these contacts to your social media (Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin)?

After adding them to my contacts I then search so see if they are on any of the three and add them to my friends/followers/contacts since this is another avenue to keep in touch with them.

When asking for the friend/follow/contact I make sure that I personalize the invite: it was great meeting you on Friday and hope that you enjoyed homecoming weekend. Let's network here as well, All the best.....

And most times I do a follow-up once they have accepted...thanks for adding me, hope to see you at the next xxxx event.

I am confused what event are you referring to?....I do follow up with any of my contacts via Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.

@vistual_vivante - any event the you attend for face to face networking where you gain new prospects and contacts. I am curious if others integrate social media with those contacts you have garnered from F2F networking.

Originally when I started visiting special networking events, I did not follow up with social media. I just recently got involved in the whole thing. ut: However, any new contacts that I meet, I am now starting to get them first into my Linkedin and maybe my Facebook.

When you go to networking events; write on the back of the business card where you met them and a little bit of information about them. This way if the card gets mixed up with your other cards you will not wonder where you met that person. When you invite them to your Linkedin you can bring up that information, which may open the door a little faster.

Great idea, I am new to the social marketing, and I plan to use this.

Transitioning from in person to virtual is a great way to stay in touch - I use both social netowking sites like Linkedin and facebook and "old fashioned" email. Email is important so contacts can add you to their address books making contacting you much easier.

I am attending an event on Wed and I am going to get 5 business cards and then invite on social networking. Thanks for the tips.....Wish me luck
