Default How Can I Create an e-Card

Hello,

I have a request to create New Years card for a client. Originally, I thought she had all the artwork and design but now, she tells me she does not have a design. I am not adept at PhotoShop. I was simply going to send out her e-card through Constant Contact to her subscribers.

Does anyone have ideas as to a fairly simple means to create an e-card that I can use to send out via the free trial in CC?

Thanks,
Jan

Just me again...Well, I guess I can use any program in which I can create a picture or a card; Publisher or even Word. I'll give that a go and see if it works.

Hi Jan,
I might suggest using Photoshop or Fireworks if you have them and are comfortable giving them a try - and yes, just create the image you want to use, add the textual content and save the image. Ideally though, you could, create something using HTML - if you're able.

But it sounds like that might not be the best option for you - have you looked into what CC offers in the way of ready but editable postcard templates? Most of these email programs have a nice library of templates you can start with and add to as needed and although I haven't been in CC for ages I seem to remember they had some fairly nice designs to work with - check it out and post back if you don't find anything.

Hi Tess...this is one of those moments where I need to slap myself and say, "I should've had a V-8."

After I posted this, I realized that CC had e-card templates...even for the free 60-day trial. There were plenty of options but I was only thinking 'custom' card.

I own Adobe Photoshop 7.0 with a how-to book that I've been putting aside, picking up in small doses but never feeling quite comfortable using for client work. I really need to get that knowledge up to par.

I found a blank template and the client sent me her photos and clipart. It's just a matter of updating the contact list and getting final approval. It came out rather nicely.

Thank you for your reply. I appreciate it.

Jan
PS I was thrown off today. I received a call from a NJ cousin visiting Palm Beach who plans to drive the 4 hours across FL to visit me tomorrow with her family. This might turn into an overnight and I am ill-prepared. Still packing up holiday items and catching up on work while nothing substantial in the fridge to offer them!
