Free basic web page editor for clients?? - Virtual Assistant Forums

Does anyone know of a good free, possibly online based basic web page editor that I can refer clients to once I build them a webpage? As much as I'd like the job security of being the only person who can make changes on websites I've built for clients, there are some budget conscious people out there who don't want to pay for every tiny little change (which I can appreciate). I'm looking for some free program that they can upload their page to and just change the text content, colors, fonts, size, etc. I know that Dreamweaver CS4 has an online editor that does just this, but after the free trial they charge a monthly fee. Plus, I'm perfectly happy with my older version of Dreamweaver and keeping the $200 upgrade fee

Any suggestions???

I would be sure to let the client know that it's very easy to mess the code up so be very cautious.
Having you fix messed up code after-the-fact will cost them more than having you make any needed changes.

Check the directory http://www.virtualassistantforums.co...rces/Software/ for a few free FTP options - I think 'Cyberduck' and 'Fetch' (for Mac) are listed in there - then your clients can edit in text files if need be BUT Christina is SO right - we've had to jump in and fix more than a few unintended messes created by a misplaced attribute or unclosed tag, etc. (Of course, there's a certain job security in that too

) so advise your clients to be very very careful when editing your creations.
