Default Wordpress, Yola, or OfficeLive
Which do you think is best for a VA site? I can't decide. Which do you think would get the most exposure in the search engines? I know it all has to do with your content and tags but I was curious on your experiences. I would prefer not to pay for a site if I don't have to.

I don't know what Yola is so can't comment on that, but will say that I've seen the inside of Office Live and it is NOT conducive to SEO-friendly code. With that in mind, and given all the plugins, plus the ease of use, I'd recommend WP every time.

Good luck!

Thank you for the recommendation. I have used Yola before but I'm not sure how it compares to Wordpress. Yola is pretty simple to use and the support team is pretty helpful but I think Wordpress is more popular.

Ditto on Wordpress. It's expandable, it will grow with your business and you can do a lot with wordpress. I too haven't heard of Yola so I went to look it up and notice that it's something similar to OfficeLive. Which got me thinking, that both Tess and I are speaking of the self-hosted version of Wordpress which can be found at www.wordpress.org vs. the hosted version on .com.

If you plan on using wordpress you definitely would want to use the self hosted version - what does that mean? You'd need to get your own domain and hosting account, then install Wordpress and build your site from there.

Feel free to send me an email if you have a question about Wordpress.

I used Yola. I have the free version but I might eventually get the premium version so that I can get the banner off the bottom and a better template. Wordpress seems pretty popular but Yola has been pretty good to me, plus its got a pretty nice blog option. I think it really just depends your plans for your site. You can really build a great site with all three so it comes down to what is most user friendly for you. For me, Yola was my best choice because I liked the set up.
