Default wordPress tutorial
I'm looking for an easy wordpress tutorial. I tried Lynda.com but not helrpful. What I'm trying to do is use wordpress templates for regular web sites not blog sites. Funny as it may seem I'm finding Learning CSS3 in Dreamweaver with the Lynday.com tutorial easer.
Thanks

I have not used WordPress, but it is in my professional development plan this year. I have seen others suggest YouTube as a resource. Hope this helps!

I don't use WordPress either. I have always used Dreamweaver and find it to be quite easy.

Using Wordpress for a regular site as opposed to just a blog is not as complicated as you may think.
The basic tweaks to make:
Make a page using the content you want to be on your Home Page (name it Home) and in your "reading" settings you would check off "use static page as home page" and ignore the "posts" page unless you want to have a blog included.
If that's the case, you'd make a page called "blog" and then choose it as your posts page.
When using WP as a blog you primarily work with posts but when using WP as a website you work more with pages.

Hope that helps,

~C

There are a number of VA's offer training programs. Also, www.Lynda.com is an inexpensive way to learn as well.

Yes, thanks for the link! It's been 12 years since I had to design a website and trying to pull all that info out of the cobwebs has been hard! A lot has changed. I'm working on my wordpress site as well and need all the tutorials I can get!
