Who has used Wordpress to create their website? I would like to go look at a few to get some ideas as to how to use this program for my website. I am so beyond overwhelmed with this process but I will not give up!

both of my blogs are on wordpress

www.stacitooke.com and http://thevirtualrealityofstaci.wordpress.com/ I set up the virtual reality blog on my own, a friend of mine did my business site for me - it is still in the build up stage.

Hi Terri!

I've done lots of WordPress sites. Both of my sites, www.avirtualedge.com and www.smallbizwebwhiz.com were built using the WordPress platform. Another VA site I've done was for Jody Higins, www.myvirtualassistantservice. com. Although not all VA sites, I have a bunch of WordPress sites you can check out in my portfolio at Small Biz Web Whiz. I use WordPress exclusively for my website design services. Both my Clerical Advantage website and my Girly Girl Geek websites are Wordpress as are Attorneys Virtual Paralegal, and the International Virtual Assistants Week website. I've built everything from attorney and real estate sites to an association membership site on WordPress using the Headway theme.

Thank you all for your feedback! I truly appreciate the links to your sites. This give me an idea of what direction I need to take. At some point in 2011 I will be taking a class so that I will be able to add this to my list of services as I can see it is a very useful and needed service. You guys are all so wonderful!!!

This was a great question, Terri, and great answers from everyone. I also have a question regarding WordPress. I first used Yahoo Site Builder to get my Web up and running, but it seems to have a lot of issues because I tweaked it beyond its capabilities -- at least that's my theory as to why it lags upon opening. I created my blog in WordPress, and now would really like to use that for my Web site. But I am so confused with the whole thing, as you are, Terri. You are not alone! My question is can I use my same Web address if I use WordPress? Since my business cards display my Web address, I really am not up for getting new cards made up. I think I'll start banging my head on the brick wall now too!

Ah to be validated...hahaha...Thanks Patty! This is going to be a challenge that I will succeed in! Nothing like starting my own business to put my confidence in check. LOL! Let the headbanging begin!

My site (www.porterofficesolutions.com) is WP.
Patty- you can make your current site a WP site. I don't know what you are using, but you should be able to install it and go from there.

Do you own the domain name that is associated with your Yahoo site? If so you can take the name with you to a new host.

You know, I have done a WordPress webinar/class for attorneys in the past, and I'd be glad to tweak it and do it for VA's if there was enough interest?
