I have my domain and hosting. I have integrated it with WordPress.

My question is should I leave it as a blog or should I have a standard home page set in place and setup a blog else where??

I am stuck on the formating and I can't seem to move to content until I get this in place. I have looked at many of your sites and the sites I saw have a set home page.

Also, I would like to add some social media widgets, but am not sure how. The template I am using is seo ready and able to use widgets.

Any and ALL suggestions and help are VERY appreciated. LOL!!

Bobbi, you can have both, do a search for any threads that have WordPress in them and read up on "Christina" a Wordpress Expert. She'll have the instructions to do that along with much much more.

Hi Bobbi,

Sorry I didn't get to your question till now. Somehow it completely slipped by me.

Having your site as well as a blog with wordpress is so easy. Before you do anything, be sure to update your WP to the newest version (2.9). Quick update can be done in your dashboard.
You'll need to set up each of your pages for your site including your content for each page. Then you'll also want to set up a page called "blog" but don't add any content to it.
In your dashboard under "settings->reading" you'll be choosing the "static page" option and choosing which page will be your front page then you will choose "blog" as your posts page.
Now whenever you add a new post it will only be found under Blog in your navigation.
Some themes will remove the "bloggy" looking items from your non-blog pages once your settings are all correct. Things like "posted on", etc.
If they don't automatically disappear, shoot me an email and I'll help you out further.

Oops, forgot about the widget question:
There are so many things you can use for your social media buttons but personally I like to use a simple text widget (in your dashboard under widgets). I use icons provided by the social media sites I want to list and use html to make the images clickable in the sidebar.
A couple other (easier) options are:

I have not used either of these but they have good reviews.
