I originally took a WP class that was offered by one of the VAs here on the forum and then I started watching youtube tutorials. Also, when I selected my theme, I found that the provider had a lot of great tutorials on their website as well. WordPress has some wonderful tutorials also.

Actually a combination of both because some things are done through WordPress and some are done through your theme (I had to learn that the hard way).
