Default Wikipedia for a client/musician?
Hi guys!
i've been asked by my client to investigate having a Wikipedia page... however, I'm not too sure.

Yes, having a Wiki page may be good for SEO... but I've only ever seen Wiki pages for celebrities (along with other things!!).

so I have a dilemma - as the musician isn't that famous, I personally would advise against having a Wiki page, but he has appeared on TV in the UK as well as having a band along with having released material... He is a representative for our region for the genre that he works with a british organisation (and that page is a stub!)...

Would love to hear your input, etc!
Rgds,

I am curious as to why you think the client isn't good enough for a page? He has appeared on TV, has a band, released materials ...

I don't see this as "your" dilema.

Don't let your personal opinion interfere with your client work, unless you feel you are being asked to do something illegal or that violates your personal ethics.

Your client is asking you to help him with a marketing plan. I would encourage it as it will increase his visiability and platform. Do your best work, that's what you are being paid to do. And as he rises in his ranking you will know you had a part in it.

If that is what the client wants I cannot see any problems with creating an entry. The client certainly seems to have achieved enough to warrant an entry. Just go for it and see what happens.

I also think you should go forward with your client's request. Your client believes he has accomplished enough to warrant an entry so I think you should create one inspite of your reservations. The client will get more exposure for what he loves to do all because of your work.

hi, I have made a decision to go ahead with it. But, has anyone done a page within Wikipedia before? Is it easy to do, etc?
Thanks for your help in advance

I haven't done one, Julia, but you might start here http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?...rnto=Main_Page to check things out and create an account.

HTH a bit - have fun!
