I thought I had posted this question but can't find it now.
I am getting started setting up/building Wordpress sites for a few people. I have a new client I am going to start working for and I am trying to figure out how best to set it up so I can create the website, then load it on her hosting server. I originally planned on creating a directory on my host (since it's unlimited) and designing the site there. Then when I am done and she approves it, I would then install Wordpress on her hosting, then copy the WP-Content folder to her host in turn having everything set up properly. Is this correct?
I know about Backup Buddy but I am not sure that I am ready to spend $150 on a software like that.
Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Why not just use your host's FTP and download all to a folder on your computer when done? For a database backup, there are numerous WP plugins to do this and save to your computer (I'm short on time, so just do a search for backup plugins ).

When you are ready to upload to her site, make sure you do a 'find and replace' in the pertinent files and change URLs to what they should be from what they are in your subfolder.
