I am hope this is in the right thread.... I have a question for you all. When you officially launched your website and officially became open for business, how did you do it? Did you have a big marketing campaign? Did you have a "launch" get together or etc?

Some do, some don't. Depends, I guess, on whether you have a group of people likely to participate in your grand opening. I didn't do one, but maybe others here will tell you that they are important to do ....

Have you been spreading the word about your business to this point? The reason I say that is because I'm still in the process of building my website, but have a few people already interested and no website. I figure once i'm done, I will do a decent marketing push to let everyone know about my services. Just put it out there so people know what you have to offer. You never know what can come out of it. Good luck

I sent an email to my family, friends and business contacts letting them know my website was "open for business" and then asked them to forward my info to anyone they knew who would be interested in a VA. I also gave all of them business cards (with website info on it) to pass out.

That's a great start to letting your family and friends know what you do. Especially since this is yours! Yay!

I have told my family, friends, and associates about my business venture. When I have my website up and running they will be the first to see it. Like Kathy, I will be asking them to forward my information to anyone that may be interested in my services.

I'm officially open for business, but I don't have a website yet - just a blog. It would be helpful to have the website up and running, but I've been giving my business card to everyone I can think of to begin generating interest. Once it is up, I'll start emailing friends and family and link my blog to it.

Hi, I am busy just getting started with logo, business cards, etc. I think a good idea would be to print up some postcards with your logo, info, etc on it announcing your website launch and send them to local area businesses. Even your Chamber of Commerce!

I would also definitely put an offer on the postcard too. For example, "the first 20 people to contact you through your website will receive a 10% discount on any service." I think this might get some people to at least take a look at your site and maybe find something that they need while they're there!
