OK, I am very interested in learning website design. I went through the HTML/CSS tutorials on this site (thank you!!) and I am taking a class too. Should I get a program like Dreamweaver? Is it worth it? I am working on my own website. I am also going to do a simple one for my husband's work for free to get more practice. I think it is something I would enjoy and would like to eventually offer - but I need lots more practice and knowledge. Any advice?

I would strongly recommend Dreamweaver. I have been using it for over 10 years now and the latest version CS4 is superb. Not only do you get WYSIWYG editing but also split mode or code only views. Integration with CSS it is also excellent. You can get a 30 day free trial from the Adobe website.

If you were looking for a free HTML editor, Evrsoft 1st Page 2000 is well worth a look.

Hi Devon,

You should get Dreamweaver or another comparable program. Great idea to get you feet wet with her husbands site and there are tons of non-profits that are always looking for volunteers if you feel you need extra experience. Plus it is great PR when you help out an organization and show off your skills.
