Allow me to preface this with a disclaimer about my absolute, abject and complete lack of any sort of techie knowledge or experience....there are no depths to the lack of my cluelessness with this stuff....just so you know....
Anyway, so after much deliberation and research, I finally decided on Hostgator for my domain registration and hosting.
So I get into my cPanel thingy and do the tutorial to get my web disk happening, all fine. That's done, feeling very pleased with myself, I come back to the cPanel expecting to find the "press here and start building your website" button.....but, to my horror, there was none.
There are options at the top "best WordPress themes" and "amazing website templates" and down the side there is "Quickinstall WordPress for your site" and a bit further down under Website Builders there's "Site Builder" and "Trendy Website Builder" (I think I'll give that one a miss, just quietly)....but which one should I use??? I've been reading that Site Builder sites don't do well with Google and that WordPress is only really for blogging and/or for people that actually have a clue about any of this....I am so confused by that - doesn't everyone use WordPress for their business websites??? Do I have to be a guru? It seems that you really
do need to have at least a modicum of technical knowledge to navigate this maze that is website development and I'm feeling very despondent (again) right now
I guess in short (which this wasn't) my question is: Should I use WordPress and is that a completely different ball game than using Site Builder? Which is better? And EASIER?
Thanks for listening........
