Default Website Builder
I was just wondering what programs some of you used to build your websites with. Or what ones you think are the best. Thanks...

I have several websites and all of them except for two were built using WordPress. It's true that WordPress is a blogging platform, but it's very easy to make a WordPress site look like an HTML site if that is your preference.

WordPress is very easy to use and it's simple to add new pages. Since I've been working with it for the past two years, I've found many ways to design sites exactly as I want them and I can either make the sites look like blogs or look like HTML sites.

All three of my current sites are on Wordpress. I started out with the built-in available through GoDaddy, then changed my host to FatCow and that's when we changed up to Wordpress. It's nice 'cuz we just changed hosts AGAIN to HostGator and were able to just 'drag' the wordpress along instead of re-inventing the wheel.

Hi
My personal preference in Joomla. It does take a bit of getting used to but there are so many plugins to tweak the site to how you want it.

Personally, I use Wordpress. There are tons of free and premium themes that you can buy to get you started with your base design and layout, and then depending on your desires and skills you can customize it to fit your needs by tweaking the code or by adding widgets. Wordpress has a huge community of users and developers that create themes and widgets, which is one of the reasons I love it - someone has almost always made what you're looking for.

I've also heard good things about Content5 and SquareSpace, but I haven't tried them yet. And for those times when you want to get a website up very quick, with little fuss and customization, check out Weebly.

Good luck! Let us know what you end up with.

Has anyone used publisher for website building? I am trying it out, so far, I like the look of it. I am working on a touch screen computer, so the screen is quite large. I guess I will have to put it on a usb to test it out on laptops and smaller screens. Thank you all for the input, if this doesn't work out than I will switch to another.

Hi,
I used Adobe Dreamweaver, I have not used Publisher in a long time (over 5 years) but I have used it before (what version would you be using?).

I have not had an opportunity to really get into wordpress yet, but if I had the time and a small project to do, I might venture in that direction.

Good Luck!

Everything I do is all WordPress. I love the flexibility and the great SEO love for ranking in search engines. The f ree and premium themes and the support available is amazing. Yes I'm biased but I figure 50 Million downloads and sites can't be wrong! LOL!
